EL DORADO. Guided Tour

In the performance EL DORADO. Guided Tour, Danica Dakic becomes a multivocal creature which guides visitors through the German Tapetenmuseum ('Wallpaper Museum'), supported in the process by Sabine Thümmler and Robel Mesgena.

The performance EL DORADO. Guided Tour by Danica Dakic revisits the conceptual and formative point of departure for her artistic work, the panorama wallpaper El Dorado, on view in the German Tapetenmuseum in Kassel. There Danica Dakic takes visitors on a tour of the museum, assisted by a school pupil, Robel Mesgena, and the director of the Tapetenmuseum, Sabine Thümmler. The artist will wear a dress developed jointly by the designer Lejla Hodzic and engineers and equipped with loudspeakers and sensors. She thus acts as an image carrier and – by allowing the participating pupils to speak via her body on eight different audio tracks – as a mouthpiece.Performance EL DORADO. Guided Tour in the mhk. Due to the massive interest there will be an additional performance by Danica Dakic on Friday (20 July) at 3 pm. Both performances are limited to 60 participants. Tickets will be available 30 minutes in advance at the cash desk of the Tapetenmuseum.
